call me Team Pigeon
May. 15th, 2015 09:50 pmIn response, I made this with my new Sensu stylus and AutoDesk Sketchbook Pro on my tablet. First drawing made with both of them, can't get the hang of the brush end of the stylus though, so stuck to the nobble on the other end.

I honestly can say I haven't been prouder of myself for a long time. This is the stuff of art.
I even finished editing chapter 1 of my fic last week. Woohoo.
Edit: Some art & stuff of pigeons and fantastic art of other birds.

Date: 2015-05-15 09:45 pm (UTC)I'm really enjoying the ability in digital art to stick art from all sources into your own drawing like a collage. Why trace when you can steal outright? All those years I spent at life drawing class, pfft. Life drawing is just art theft anyway, except that you're tracing from life.
The body pose I used is from a pic here which I got by googling "man jumping", the pigeon head was the first google result for "pigeon". The cravat and hair is from official art of Edgeworth here. Hope I haven't taken away any of the magic for you. ;)
I really admire those who can create their own character art, since I always use references and have even before the age of digital art. People used to call me creative, then be so disappointed when I explained how I assembled my art from dozens of references. In the end, I gave up making them sad and just said nothing.

Date: 2015-05-15 10:58 pm (UTC)I have the opposite problem, I never use references since I never learned how to 'see in shapes', so I just go completely free handed and the results aren't impressive as you can guess, especially considering I still don't have the skills to pull that off. Oh well, I guess I should learn to disappoint people too if I want to improve. :P
