Dogi from Ys

Sketches for a thing I'm doing for parallelsfic. From official art of this character showing his different designs through the Ys games. What I like most about him is how much he smiles. I've a real fondness for optimistic types.

I've been looking at a lot of art by Akihiko Yoshida like this and this as inspiration for how I want the final piece to be. His stuff is so beautiful. Most of his work is collected on the useful fan blog akihiko-yoshida.
